A Logbook Full of Stories
The lasting impact of a few days at sea

Years ago, Fundació Joves Navegants was already taking young people out to sea through the La Mar de Joves project.
For a few days, Galaxie became much more than a sailing yacht. It was a place to live together, learn, share and experience something completely different from everyday life. For many of the young people who took part, it was their first time sailing or sharing an experience like this with others.
Each journey brought new challenges, conversations, discoveries and moments that were difficult to put into words once back on shore.
Writing to remember
There was a logbook on board.
Some of the young people used it to write about what they had experienced during the journey. Not as an assignment or an educational exercise, but simply as a way of capturing the moment.
Its pages became filled with impressions, memories, anecdotes and personal reflections written while experiencing life at sea first-hand.
Simple words that, with the passing of time, have taken on a different meaning.

A logbook that was still on board
When we recovered Galaxie, that logbook was still on board.
Opening it again, we found pages filled with genuine memories of everything that had happened there: first experiences, unexpected connections, lessons learned and moments that, although they may have lasted only a few days, had left a lasting impression.
Reading those pages years later allows us to look back at those journeys from a different perspective.
What may once have seemed like simply a few days at sea had meant something much more to some of those who took part: discovering something new, overcoming a personal barrier or sharing an experience far removed from their everyday lives.
Galaxie sails again
Today, with Galaxie sailing once again and playing an active role in the projects of Fundació Joves Navegants, returning to that logbook helps us understand the value of what was already happening on board all those years ago.
It also reminds us why we continue working to bring the sea closer to children, young people, older generations and those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it.
Because the impact of an experience cannot always be measured by how long it lasts.
Sometimes, just a few days on board are enough to create a memory that stays with you for years.
And that logbook is still there to remind us.
