A Day at Sea with AMADIBA onboard Galaxie

On 13 April, we set sail once again aboard Galaxie, this time with a very special group from AMADIBA. It was one of those days that stays with you, not only because of the beautiful weather and the sea, but because of the laughter we shared, the discoveries we made and the genuine connection between people and the marine environment.

From the very beginning, the energy on board was contagious. The young participants experienced the journey as a true adventure: they drew fish and marine mammals, observed seabirds through binoculars, including seagulls and shearwaters, and later wrote down their names and characteristics in their notebooks, becoming young Mediterranean scientists for the day.

Using a hydrophone, they listened to sounds from beneath the surface and discovered the invisible world that exists below the waves. There was also time to sing, share songs, listen to music, and discover that the sea can also be experienced through sound.

Then came a moment to slow down, have lunch together on deck and simply enjoy being at sea. Sharing a meal outdoors, surrounded by endless views of the Mediterranean, was another special part of a day in which everything flowed naturally.

The educational team later told us that, in the days that followed, the group could not stop talking about the experience. They relived the day through the photographs, remembered what they had learned and kept asking when the next trip would be. That lasting echo, the emotional impact that remains long after returning to shore, is what gives meaning to days like this.

Because sometimes, that is all it takes: a boat, good weather, a few songs… and the desire to see the sea through new eyes.
